A handsome old church
This worn but handsome marshland church has a lovely brick-and-stone tower and a lofty interior. The foot of the tower contains a curious cell or oratory. The church was built in the fifteenth century on an older site where Roman as well as Medieval remains have been found. There is some glorious twentieth-century stained glass in the windows and the benches in the chancel have beautifully carved ends.

Conservation and Regeneration
Repair Work at St Andrew’s Church, Walpole
St. Andrew’s has stood forlorn for far too long. Now, community volunteers and The Churches Conservation Trust are keen to ensure that the church is used for local events and kept open for visitors to enjoy and to appreciate its beauty and history.
Help us to repair the damage
Work on the floor was started many years ago to understand the effloresence that is evident in the pillars. To replace the uplifted floor with a wooden basis will cost in excess of £50,000.Your support is vital, as additional funds will be required for further work, which could be carried out to improve the interior appearance.
We would also like to make it suitable for community use and to ensure that this beautiful church is protected and safeguarded for future generations to enjoy.
