Dramatic tower gargoyles
A twelfth-century church, with two exceptional honey-coloured Norman arcades in the nave with delicately carved capitals.
The splendid fifteenth-century tower is adorned with dramatic gargoyles and there is a complete ring of four fifteenth-century bells from the Exeter Foundry.

From a wide lane with good parking, through double metal gates up a gently sloping tiled path to the south porch (30m). Level entrance to porch. Relatively clear access but tiles on the churchyard path uneven.

Facilities & Hire
Thurlbear St Thomas church is available to hire for events and is a unique and beautiful venue.
Due to its historic nature the church has no heating, running water or toilet facilities so thought needs to be given for events longer than a couple of hours (e.g. portaloo hire).
Thurlbear St Thomas does have electricity and lighting and can seat up to 135 people.
