Suffolk: The Redgrave & Lopham Fen and Thelnetham Windmill Walks
Discover the CCT 14th Century church, Thelnetham Windmill and nature reserves on the Norfolk/Suffolk border
Two scenic circular walks where you can visit St Mary’s in Redgrave, nature reserves and Thelnetham Windmill. St Mary’s was built in the 14th Century by the Abbots of the Benedictive Abbey of St Edmundsbury and is a vast church set in open fields. The walk goes along part of the Angles Way which connects to the Norfolk coast and the Icknield Way.
The main route is 4.2 miles (6.8 km) and will take approx. 1 hour 15 minutes to walk. The orange route is an additional 5 miles (8 km) and will take approx 1 hour 30 minutes to walk. The routes is moderately easy but there are some narrow and uneven sections which can be muddy after rain.
